Science


What Is Science: the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

Scientific Method: It is a body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge, through an experiment.

The steps are :
  1. Ask a Question
  2. Do Background Research
  3. Construct a Hypothesis
  4. Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment
  5. Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion
  6. Communicate Your Results

Also the experiment has to be a fair test

Engineering: It is a series of steps that engineers follow to come up with a solution to a problem. Many times the solution involves designing a product (like a machine or computer code) that meets certain criteria and/or accomplishes a certain task.

The steps are :
  1. Define the Problem
  2. Do Background Research
  3. Specify Requirements
  4. Brainstorm Solutions
  5. Choose the Best Solution
  6. Do Development Work
  7. Build a Prototype
  8. Test and Redesign
